BBC ve BritBox ortak yapımı “Hercule” adlı dizi, Agatha Christie’nin ikonik dedektifi Hercule Poirot’a yeni bir oyuncu kazandırdı; 33 yaşındaki Edward Bluemel, başrolü üstlenecek.

Bluemel, daha önce “Killing Eve”, “My Lady Jane” ve “Sex Education” gibi popüler yapımlarda yer almış; ayrıca “We Might Regret This”, “Belgravia: The Next Chapter” ve “A Discovery of Witches” projelerinde de performans sergilemiş.
33 yaşında olması, onu canlı aksiyonlu projelerde Poirot’u canlandıran en genç oyuncu konumuna getiriyor.

Resmi logline şu şekildedir: “The series is an intimate study of Hercule the man and an epic portrait of Britain between the wars. The series takes a magnifying glass to three of Christie’s most celebrated stories, while also charting Hercule’s burgeoning friendship with Captain Arthur Hastings, his early encounters with Scotland Yard’s James Japp, and introducing him to one particular nemesis.” Dizi, üç sezon olarak planlanmış ve BritBox üzerinden yayınlanacak.
Yürütücü yapımcılar arasında Benji Walters, Jonny Campbell, James Prichard, Rebecca Durbin, Damien Timmer, Nick Lambon, Robert Schildhouse, Jon Farrar ve Stephen Nye yer alıyor.
“Edward Bluemel is an extremely talented performer and will make a great addition to the long line of actors that have played this celebrated character,” he said.

Bu atama, Kenneth Branagh’ın son üç filminde (Murder on the Orient Express – 2017, Death on the Nile – 2022, A Haunting in Venice – 2023) canlandırdığı ve yönettiği Poirot yorumundan sonra geliyor.
